Obituary

Eugene L.Vaccaro,53,of Rostraver Twp.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Jan.12,1978,at 2:22 p.m. in Allegheny General Hospital,Pittsburgh. Born March 17,1924,in Belle Vernon,he was a son of Mrs.Rose Mendicino Vaccaro of Belle Vernon and the late John Vaccaro,who passed away in 1957. He was employed as a track foreman by the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad and was a a member of the M.and W.Local Union. He was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 3026,both of Belle Vernon. A U.S.navy veteran of World War II,he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1605 of Newell. In addition to his father,he was preceded in death by two brothers,Anthony (Tony) in 1976 and Gasper in 1973,and a sister,Mary Vaccaro. Surviving are his widow,Mrs.Valeria Kukan Vaccaro,one daughter,Regina Vaccaro,at home,one brother,Joseph of Belle Vernon one sister,Mrs.Al (Julie) DiNardo of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Leonard J.Parzynksi Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where a prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Leonard J.Parzynski is the funeral director in charge.
