Obituary

Eugene (Army) Kornosky of 642 Green St.,Belle Vernon died Thursday,April 22,1982,at 11:11 a.m.at the Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. He was 51. Mr.Kornosky was born Nov.11,1930 in Speers,a son of the late Michael and Mary Elizabeth Popovich Kornosky. He was preceded in death by two brothers,John and Michael Kornosky Jr. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area,Mr.Kornosky had been employed for the past 25 years as a service technician for the National Cash Register Co. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict,having served four years as an Airman First Class with the U.S.Air Force. Mr.Kornosky was a charter member of the Monessen Junior Tammies and was also a member of the Pittsburgh Metallurgical Society. Survivors include his widow,Judy Myers Kornosky,one son,Curt E.Kornosky,a student at North Texas State University,one daughter,Kerry Lynn Kornosky,a student at Slippery Rock State College,two brothers,Albert of Cattoll Twp.and Joseph of Speers Hill,one sister,Mrs.Andrew (Hermina) Gernot of Speers Hill,and his mother-in-law and father-in-law,Stanley and Ann Myers Barch of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,where services will be held on Saturday,April 24,at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Charles Sowden,pastor of First United Methodist Church of Fredericktown,officiaing. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
