Wednesday; June 16; 1993; in
Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll
Township; following a lengthy
illness.
Mrs. Doolas was born in
Chios; Greece; a daughter of the
late Nicholas and Irene Mitsos
Popovites.
She had been a Mon Valley
resident for many years.
Mrs. Doolas was a member of
St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox
Church; Monessen and the
Ladies Philoptochos Society of
the Church.
In addition to her parents; she
was also preceded in death by
her husband; Pete; in 1960; and
by two daughters; Despina
Doolas; in 1929; and Despina
Ploussas; in 1985. Numerous
brothers and sisters are also
deceased.
Surviving are one daughter;
Mrs. Cono J. (Stella Doolas)
Pezzino (with whom she made
her home) of Speers; four
grandchildren; Mary Ann
Papantonakis of Speers; Mrs.
Steve (Irene) Douglas of
Canonsburg; Gregory Ploussas
of Frehold; N.J.; and Peter
Ploussas of Mine Hill; N.J.; and
nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the
Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Trisagion services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday;with Prayers in the funeral home at noon followed by 12:30 p.m.funeral services at St.Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Nicholas Pastrikos;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in Mrs.Doolas’memory may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church;Monessen.
