Obituary

Mn, Etta Carney, 78, of 30 Main St., Belle Vernon, died Thursday,February 13,1964,at 7 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs, Julius (Margaret) Perry, 700 Graham St., Belle Vernon.   Mrs. Carney was born in Shawnee, Ohio, Aug. 15, 1884, a daughter of John and Jane Mason Roe. She came to Belle Vernon from Shawnee in 1905. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry, Dec. 27, 1963, she is survived by two sons, Thomas Scanlon and Harry Carney Jr., both of Belle Vernon; three daughters, Mrs. Phoebe Duvuvuei of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Stricklin, Warren, Ohio and Mrs. Perry: two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Felger and Mrs. Annie Bush, both of Pricedale; 15 grandchildren; 18 great - grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, after 7 p.m. Feb.14.  Funeral services will be held Monday,Feb.17,at 1:30 p.m. from the funeral home,with the Rev. Garnet Ackinclose,pastor of the Church of the Nazarene,Belle Vernon,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
