Ethel Mae Greene, 77, of 439 Market St., Belle Vernon, died yesterday at 10 30 a.m. in Charleroi - Monessen Hospital after a long illness. Miss Greene had been employed over 40 years with the Tri-Cities Water Co which served Charleroi, Monessen and Donora. She continued to work for the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi after it began operating the water service in 1942. She retired 12 years ago. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Belle Vernon where she was active as treasurer and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Born in Belle Vernon on May 20, 1889. she was the daughter of the late James and Harriet Woods Greene. Surviving are one brother, Harry D. Greene of Belle Vernon' four sisters, Mrs. Lucretia Kuhn of Belle Vernon, Mrs. William (Delia) Fisher of North Charleroi, Mrs. Deno (Alberta) Carini and Mrs. Albert (Hazel) Price, both of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Jan.10 at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon. Service there Thursday,Jan.12,at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Spear,pastor of Belle Vernon's Free Methodist Church,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
