Esther Tolf Hott; of 1608
Maple Ave.; Monessen; died Friday;July 29;1983; at 2:05 p.m. in her
home following a lengthy illness. She was 88.
Mrs. Hott was born Dec. 31;
1894; in Rankin; Pa.; a
daughter of the late
Frederick and Emily
Bengstun Tolf.
She had been employed as a
supervisor at the former tin
mill in Monessen and had also
worked at the former Pittsburgh Steel Company; there;
during World War II.
Mrs. Hott had performed
the Sexton duties at St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church; Monessen;
for 35 years; and was also the
oldest living charter member
of St. Paul’s Luthern Church.
She was also a member of the
Fidelity Bible Class of the
Church.
Mrs. Hott was preceded in
death by a sister; Laura
Frew; in 1979; by a brother;
Anthony Tolf; in 1959; by a
granddaughter; Joanne
Molle; in 1950; and by a great-granddaughter; Patti Ann
Molle; in 1968.
Surviving are three
daughters; Mrs. Joseph
(June) Molle of Orange Springs; Fla.; Mrs. John (Alice)
DiBiaso of Monessen (with
whom she made her home);
and Mrs. Thomas (Betty)
Boyer; also of Monessen;
eight grandchildren; and 18
great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at
the Rhome Funeral Home;
Inc.; 1209 Grand Blvd.;
Monessen; Sunday from 7 to 9
p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 a.m.Tuesday in the funeral home;followed by additional services at 10:30 a.m.in St.Paul’s Lutheran Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Charles Barber;pastor;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in Mrs.Hott’s memory may be made to St.Paul’s Memorial Fund through the funeral home. The Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.;is in charge of arrangements.
