Esther Hixenbaugh Forsythe, 76, of Charleroi, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 10, 2018, after a long battle with lung disease. She was born on April 12, 1941, the daughter of the late James and Ella Ellis Hixenbaugh. Esther was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church in Charlerol. She was an avid Home Interior sales consultant earlier in life and later retired from Careerlink. She is survived by her daughter Mary Elizabeth Rabe and Fiance Wayne Carson, of Speers; three grandsons, Bradley (Sarah) Rabe of Pittsburgh, and Dylan and Randy Carson, of Speers; great-grandson, Bennett, with whom she adored; siblings, James (Doris) Hixenbaugh, of Texas, Michael(Donna) Hixenbaugh, James(Cindy) Hixenbaugh, of Perryopolis, Richard Hixenbaugh, of Elco and Michael Hixenbaugh, of Florida; sister-in-law, Rosemarie Hixenbaugh, of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, William Hixenbaugh, Jack Hixenbaugh, Anna Bryant, Edna Mae Hixenbaugh, Linda Hixenbaugh, Mary Lou McGill, Janet Hixenbaugh, Pauline Rhodes and Anita Hixenbaugh Fisher. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, in the funeral home, with Fr. Robert Hanna officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
