Essen Farkas;81;of 3 James St.;Belle Vernon;died at her home suddenly on Wednesday;Feb.1;1989 at 8:15 a.m. She was born in Belle Vernon on August 20;1907;a daughter of the late Frank and Fortunata Gaintorno Trozzo. Mrs.Farkas was a member of the St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and the Defense Club;both of Belle Vernon. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Sanders Farkas;who died in 1960;one sister;Adeline Bruno;and one brother;Mario Trozzo. She is survived by one son;Richard F.and his wife Hanne Farkas of Belle Vernon;one daughter;Sandra Rogers at home;three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home;Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home;followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St.Sebastian’s Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home;Inc.;is in charge of arrangements.
