Obituary

Eric E.Bieneck,46,of 1345 Reeves Ave.,Monessen,died Tuesday,April 9,1968,at 10:30 a.m.in Veterans Administration Hospital,Oakland,Pittsburgh. Although in ill health,his death was unexpected. Mr.Bieneck was born in Germany on Aug.20,1921,but had lived in Monessen since his early life. He was employed as a driver for Hilltop Bus Lines in Monessen. Mr.Bieneck was known throughout the Valley for his orchestra,the Velveteers. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S.Army in the European Theatre during World War II. A member of St.Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church,he also belonged to American Legion Thomas McKee Post 28 and Volunteer Fire Department Hose House No.2,all of Monessen. Surviving are his widow,Alice Jeanne Reach Bieneck,his parents,Mr.and Mrs.Karl Bieneck Sr.of Monessen,two brothers,Karl Jr.of Belle Vernon and Gerhardt of Monessen. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.April 10 at the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home in Monessen. Service there Friday April 12 at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.Thomas Stennett,pastor of St.Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Monessen,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Robert A.Billick is funeral director.
