Emily J. Griest,53,of 116 Rostraver Apartments,Belle Vernon,died Friday,Dec.8,1995,at 4:55 p.m. in St. Francis Central Hospital,Pittsburgh. She was born in North Charleroi,Aug.27,1942,a daughter of Loman D. Mason of Belle Vernon and the late Eleanor Hilty Mason,who died in June 1994. Mrs. Griest was protestant by faith. She was a resident of the Belle Vernon area for most of her life. Surviving are her husband, Harry N. Griest;a brother,Robert L.and his wife Judy Mason of Belle Vernon;and three sisters,Janice Garletts of Mt. Pleasant,Diane Angel of Fairhope and Rebecca Pezzelle of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m.with the Rev. Ralph Houseman,retired Wesleyan minister,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of the arrangements.
