Emily Daniels Granlund; 92; of Belle Vernon; passed away on June 19; 2010; after a short battle with cancer. Born in West Brownsville; she was the daughter of Jonas and Veronica Rebicus Daniels. She was Catholic by faith. She retired from U.S. Steel as a chambermaid and cook on their riverboats. She also ran a glasshouse locomotive during World War II. She enjoyed bingo; cooking; walking; her family; dogs; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; A.J. Rip Granlund; daugher and son-in-law; Marlene and Arnold Mecham; grandson; Brian Mecham; sister; Stella Sands; four brothers; Andy; Felix; John and James Daniels; niece; Shirley Conte; and nephew; John Lee Daniels. She is survived by a son; Arthur A. and wife; Sally Granlund; a brother; Frank; and wife; Clara Daniels; grandsons; Eric and Bill Granland; and Barry Mecham; granddaughter Kelly (Glen) Reynolds; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. At her request; there will be no viewing; and a graveside service will be held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers; the family will accept donations.
