Obituary

Emilia DeRose of 614 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,died Sunday,Jan.31,1988,at 7:30 a.m. in Haven Crest Nursing Home,Carroll Township. She was 84. Mrs.DeRose was born May 17,1903,in Italy,a daughter of the late Thomas and Jennie Esposito Gatto. She was a member of St.Cajetan Roman Catholic Church,Monessen,and the Christian Mothers of the church. Mrs.DeRose was also a member of the Ladies Lodge of the Mutual Aid Society and the Regina Lodge of the Monessen Sons of Italy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,Octavius DeRose,on March 4,1982. Survivors include three daughters,Mrs.Lester (Pearl) Hunter of Monessen,Mrs.Devina Bitonti of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Sylvia Bednar of Warren,Ohio,two sons,Armand M.DeRose of Monessen and Octavius DeRose of Eaton Rapids,Mich.,12 grandchildren,six great-grandchildren,two brothers,Frank and Anthony Gatto,both of Rome,Italy,and a close friend,Frances Perry of Monessen. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.in the Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral Home,441 Reed Ave.,Monessen,where a blessing service will be held Wednesday,Feb.3,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Cajetan Church,Monessen,with Monsignor P.Lino Ramellini as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The parish Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening in the funeral home. The Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
