Obituary

Emil A. Livi, 90, of Montgomery Village, Md., formerly of Fayette City, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, in Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Md. Born in Fayette City on Feb. 19, 1924, he was the son of the late Alderio and Mary (Dolfi) Livi. Emil was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Md., and was a former member of St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon. He was retired from Fayette County as an investigator, and owned Livi's Bar in Fayette City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his daughter, Emile (Russell) Morse of Montgomery Village, Md.; son-in-law, Douglas P. Jones of Fort Myers, Fla.; four granddaughters, Mardy (C. J.) Land, Diane (Joseph II) Lipski, Kara (Morgan) Lapham and Meghan Jones; four great-grandchildren, Amanda Lipski, Jack Land, Andrew Lipski and Alyssa Lipski; two brothers, James (Harriet) Livi of Greensburg and Dennis (Sylvia) Livi of Meadville. In addition to his parents, Emil was preceded in death by his wife, Mary W. Livi in 2008; three daughters, Mary Dee Jones, Semina K. Livi and Angela Livi; and two sisters, Jean Hospodar and Semina Dohan. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, http://www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a blessing service will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Church, Belle Vernon with Msgr. Roger A. Statnick presiding. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland, St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon, or to The American Lung Association.
