Emerson Spiker;69;of 117 Dinsmore St.;Belle Vernon (Fairhope);died suddenly Wednesday;July 5;1967;at 2:05 a.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr.Spiker was a retired employee of the P.& L.E.Railroad and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose No.269 of Newell;Washington Twp.Volunteer Fire Dept.and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was born in Connellsville on Oct.29;1898. Surviving are a son;Elmer;and two daughters;Mrs.John (Gladys) Kelley and Mrs.Carey (Marion) Harris;all of Belle Vernon;three brothers;Clyde of Fairmont;W.Va.;Elmer of Pittsburgh and Smith of Brownsville;a sister;Mrs.Anna Grant of Allison;nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife;Margaret;in 1951;and two sons;Melvin in 1944 and Emerson in 1956. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. Service there Saturday;July 8;at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Charles Colas;pastor of Belle Vernon’s First Baptist Church;officiating. Interment;Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director.
