Obituary

Emerson Spiker,69,of 117 Dinsmore St.,Belle Vernon (Fairhope),died suddenly Wednesday,July 5,1967,at 2:05 a.m.in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr.Spiker was a retired employee of the P.& L.E.Railroad and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose No.269 of Newell,Washington Twp.Volunteer Fire Dept.and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was born in Connellsville on Oct.29,1898. Surviving are a son,Elmer,and two daughters,Mrs.John (Gladys) Kelley and Mrs.Carey (Marion) Harris,all of Belle Vernon,three brothers,Clyde of Fairmont,W.Va.,Elmer of Pittsburgh and Smith of Brownsville,a sister,Mrs.Anna Grant of Allison,nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife,Margaret,in 1951,and two sons,Melvin in 1944 and Emerson in 1956. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Service there Saturday,July 8,at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Charles Colas,pastor of Belle Vernon's First Baptist Church,officiating. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory is funeral director.
