Mrs. Elton E. Phillips, 76, of 410 Third St.,California,Pa.,formerly of Florida,Clairton and Monessen,died Saturday June 14,1969,at 2:40 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mrs. Phillips was a graduate of Southwestern State Normal School,now California State College, in 1912 and had taught in the elementary grades in Monessen and Clairton. She was a member of United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star No.211,both of California. Mrs. Phillips was born in Tenth Legion,Va.on Dec. 2,1892. She had lived in California since 1960. Her husband,Francis L. died in 1959. Survivng are two sons,Francis L. of California,Pa.,and Douglas of Littleton;two brothers,Vale Martz of Mt. Pleasant,S.C.and Leroy Martz of Newport News, Va.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. on Monday at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon.
