Elmer Leo Steele; 97; of Roscoe; died Sunday; March 23; 2014; at Mon Valley Hospital. Born Aug. 21; 1916 in Jacobsburg; Ohio; a son of Walter Scott and Olive Edith Wells Steele. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Steele was retired from the former Page’s steel mill in Monessen. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law; Terry and Joyce Steele of Roscoe; two daughters and a son-in-law; Sherryl Wall of Roscoe and Sheila and Jim Sneith of Eighty-Four; nine grandchildren; Joyce; Shelly; Paul; Aimee; Michael; Joy; Misty; Jayme and Dylon; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Helen L. Winters Steele in 2002; and son-in-law; Roger Steele. There will be no public visitation.
