Obituary

Elmer L.Britt Jr.,71,of 133 Marion Ave.,Belle Vernon (Fairhope) died Saturday,Sept.14,1996,at 10:25 a.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Born April 4,1925 in North Belle Vernon,he was a son of the late Mr.and Mrs.Elmer L.Britt Sr. Mr.Britt was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area and was Lutheran by faith. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. He was also a retired owner and operator of Britt',s Auto Body Shop in Fairhope. Survivors include his wife,Carole MacDonnell Britt,two sons,David Britt of Dunlevy and Timmy Britt of Belle Vernon,and one daughter,Debbie Bartolotta of Monongahela. In additin to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.Kirk Griffin,pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church of Charleroi officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 will hold services Monday at 7 p.m.in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Humane Society. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
