Obituary

Elmer C. Cap Sell,41,of 941 Lookout Avenue, took his own life while in a fit of despondency at about 6 o'clock Monday morning,Dec.21,1936. His lifeless body was found hanging from a rafter in the basement of the home at 8:40 o'clock by his wife,Emilie. Mr.Sell had arisen from bed at 6 a.m.,telling his wife he was going to fire the furnace. When he did not return from the basement his wife investigated and made the gruesome discovery. He had taken a clother-line,fixed a noose aroung his neck, stepped up on a bench to fasten the rope to a rafter and stepped off the bench. Police say that Mr.Sell had not been working steadily for the past year and believe this led him to today's rash act. In addition to his wife,he is survived by two children,Elmer,Jr.,aged 12,and Elvn, aged 8. His parents,Mr.and Mrs.Henry Sell,of Monessen, and one sister,Mrs.Hilda Miller,of Monessen, also survive.
