Ellen E. Oliphant; 91; of Roscoe; died Sunday; Dec. 12; 2004; in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Sept. 24; 1913; in Broughton; Pa.; a daughter of the late John William and Anna Belle McCready Burgan. Mrs. Oliphant was a member of the Charleroi Senior Citizens and the AARP Chapter. She is survived by her daughter; Lorraine Oliphant Vercoe of Roscoe; two sons; Charles Oliphant and wife Retta of Daytona Beach; Fla.; and Larry Oliphant of Ohio; one brother; Russell Burgan of Uniontown; 10 grandchildren; Edward and Kathleen Vercoe; Debra Skomsky; Ronald and Phoebe Vercoe; Gary and Becky Oliphant; Rosemarie Picoh; Cheryl and Kenneth Iselin; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a brother; Amos Behanna; four sisters; Anna Grummer; Catherine Pegg; Alice Valko; Ida Wilson; and a grandson; Stephen Skomsky. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME INC.; 226 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
