Funeral services were held Monday for Ella Marie Speers, 73, of 541 Henry St., Belle Vernon, who died Saturday, May 28, 1994, at 9:05 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born May 12, 1921, in Belle Vernon, a daughter of the late George and Lulu Perkins Gillen. Mrs. Speers was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, S. Ward Speers: one daughter, Darla J. Breza of Belle Vernon: two sons, David W. Speers of Belle Vernon and Thomas G. Speers of Rock Hill, N.C.; one sister, Virginia Houseman of Belle Vernon: seven grandchildren. Kimberlee R. Lightsey, Ryan W. Breza. Andrew Speers. Frederick T. Speers, Stephanie R. Speers, Darla J. Granato and David Speers: and one great-grandchild, Jamie Granato. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother. George Gillen, in 1986; and two sisters, Elizabeth Young,1993, and Edna Dubnansky, 1994. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., Belle Vernon, was in charge of arrangements.
