Ella Louise Nichols, 89 of Charleroi, passed away Satruday, February 25, 2017 in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. She was born December 11, 1927, in Dunlevy, the daughter of the late David D. and Margaret C. Stinemiller Briggs. Ella was a member of the Charleroi Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Louis R. Nichols, Sr.; four sons Louis R. Nichols and wife Peggy of Fallowfield Township, Larry Nichols and Karen of Fallowfield Township, Frank D. Nichols and wife Nancy of Long Branch and Kent L. Nichols and wife Cindy of Carroll Township; two daughters Carol M. Nichols of Monessen and Joni Paluso and husband Bob of Fallowifeld Township; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; her only surviving sister and best friend, Geraldine Stasicha of Charleroi. In addition to her parents, Ella is preceded in death by her three sisters Shirley Simmons, Harriet Lorenzi and Virginia Isabello; three brothers Cecil Briggs, Frederick Brigg and David Briggs. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
