Obituary

Ella Redmond Aldridge of Washington Heights,Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,Jan.8,1981,at 4:35 p.m.at the home of her daughter,Mrs.Pearl Hamilton,after a lengthy illness. She was 87. Mrs.Aldridge was born May 2,1893 in Jefferson Twp.,Fayette County,a daughter of the late Samuel and Nellie Aldridge Redmond. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Belle Vernon. Mrs.Aldridge was preceded in death by her husband,Henry,in 1961. Survivors include threee sons,Theodore of Charleroi,Willard of Fayette City,and Rev.David Aldridge of Cleveland,Ohio,seven daughters,Mrs.Maude James of Speers Hill,Mrs.Edith Wolf of Clairton,Mrs.Irene Peto of West Newton,Mrs.Mildred Bennett of Arnold City,Mrs.Beatrice Coulson of Charleroi,Mrs.Betty Joseph of Shelbyville,Ind.,and Mrs.Pearl Hamilton of Belle Vernon,three sisters,Mrs.Adeline Acklin of Brownsville,Mrs.Esther Kelly of Amburst,Ohio and Mrs.Mary Kudiac of Blainesburg,31 grandchildren,46 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchilren. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The body will be taken to the Church of the Nazarene,Belle Vernon,at noon on Saturday,January 10,to lie in state until 1:30 p.m.,the hour of service. The Rev.Kenneth Neiderhiser,pastor of the church,and the Rev.George McNeel,pastor of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church,Brownstown,Fayette City,will officiate. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
