Elizabeth M.Igoe Gates of 312 Lenawee Ave.;Monessen;died Thursday;Nov.10;1983;at 1:45 a.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 83. She was born April 2;1900;in Smithton;a daughter of the late Thomas and Lyda Boreland Keifer. A Monessen resident for many years;Mrs.Gates was a member of the First Christian Church. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her first husband;Dave Igoe in 1940;her second husband;Curtis P.Gates in 1966;and a daughter;Mrs.Alice Eschman in 1980. Survivors include five daughters;Mrs.Gloria Hohenberger of Warren;Ohio;Mrs.Ruth Clark of Clarksburg;W.Va.;Mrs.Emma Lou Bellinelli of Donora;Mrs.Elizabeth Igoe Smith of Baldwin and Mary Jane Igoe of Monessen;three sons;Robert and Dave Igoe;both of Belle Vernon;and Alvin R.Gates of Endfield;Conn.;22 grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren;and one sister;Emma Jane Keifer of Donora. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen;where funeral services will be held Saturday;Nov.12;at 10:30 a.m.with the Rev.Conrad Aurl Jr.;pastor of the First Christian Church of Monessen;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
