Elizabeth M. Bair; 88; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Friday;
July 20; 2001; in the Residence
at Hilltop; Carroll Township.
She was born Jan. 14; 1913; in
Wilkinsburg; a daughter of the
late Hugh H. and Hilda George
McCulloch. She was a member
of the First Presbyterian
Church of Belle Vernon; the
Belle Vernon Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 196 and the
former Miriam Club. Prior to
living at Residence at Hilltop;
she had resided in Belle Vernon
since 1938. She earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Monmouth College
in Illinois in 1934 and had
taught in the Swissvale School
District for several years. Survivors include her husband; Dr.
Victor W. Bair; with whom she
would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on Sept.23;one daughter and son-in-law;Patricia and Frank ready of Stuart;Fla.;two sons and daughters-in-law;James W.and Shirley Bair of St.Petersburg;Fla.;and G.Thomas and Elaine Bair of Rostraver Township;one sister;Patricia Huot of Pittsburgh;eight grandchildren;Susan Pringie;Lisa Barnes;Mark Ready;Amy Johnson;Michael Bair;Lauri Bair;Matthew Bair;and Emily Bair;11 great-grandchildren and a dear friend of the family;Thomas E.Cocain. Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.;a Golden Rule Member Firm;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at noon in the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon with the Rev.James Ramsey officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The elders and deacons of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon will meet in the funeral home to conduct services Monday at 7 p.m.
