Obituary

Elizabeth Gresh, 92, of Rostraver Township, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. She was born April 21, 1914, in Belle Vernon, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Den Decker) Van Fleet. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area, Rostraver Township, and enjoyed cooking, bingo and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gresh, a son, John J. Jack Gresh, a granddaughter, Gina Caterino Kingsley Mann, a great-grandson, Derek Shemak, a son-in-law, Marshall Brighenti, and a brother, Peter Van Fleet. She is survived by a daughter, Juliann Gresh Brighenti, four grandchildren, Jacqueline Gresh Phillips and husband Joe, Katherine Gresh Shemak and husband Mark, John Vincent Gresh and Janet Gresh Kelly and husband Tony, seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie Kingsley, Nicholas Mann, Brandon Michael and Katlyn Taylor Shemak, Joseph James, Jonathan Jepaul and Jenavieve Jkaleash Phillips, and a great-great-grandson, Richard Spencer. She also is survived by a sister, Katherine Van Fleet, a niece and numerous nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Second Street, Smithton. A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. Elizabeth preferred flowers while she was living and could enjoy them. She had asked that upon her death, instead of flowers, donations be made to the Rostraver Library, 800 Fellsburg Road, Rostraver, PA 15012, or a charity of one's choice.
