Eli O.Rieu;64;of 646 Third St.;Monessen;died Saturday;March 6;1993;in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township;following a brief illness. Mr.Rieu was born Feb.11;1929;in Monessen;a son of Henriette Cayrol Rieu;who survives and resides in Monessen;and the late Emil F.Rieu. He had been employed as a millwrigth at the Dravosburg plant of Fisher Body for General Motors Corporation before retiring. Mr.Rieu was a member of The Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the French Club;both of Monessen;and the Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving;in addition to his mother;are his wife;Ruth Robinson Rieu;a daughter and son-in-law;Henreitte L.Rieu Werden and Gary L.Werden of Sharon;Mass.;a son and daughter-in-law;Ralph F.and Lynette Porecca Rieu of Smith Mountain Lake;Va.;six grandchildren;Stacey;Tara;Melissa;Meghan;Ryan and Heather;and one brother;Emil H.Rieu of Bowie;Md. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.;1209 Grand Blvd.;Monessen. Prayers will be said Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home;followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in The Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church;Monessen. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home;Inc.is handling arrangements.
