Obituary

Eleanor "Ellie" M. DiPiazza Davis, 88, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at 8:20 p.m. at Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. Born Sept. 11, 1926, in Dunlevy, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Catalina DiPiazza. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Davis was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was also a retired housekeeper from the church. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, Monessen, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was always seen volunteering at church functions' bake sales. She loved to cook, bake and work in her garden. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Eileen and Kenneth Lindey of Dunlevy, and Susan Stanley of Lynnwood; five grandchildren, Valerie Lindey, Shannon Lindey, David Stanley Jr. and wife, Abigail Mon, Lauren Stanley, Abigail Stanley; a great-grandson, Bryce Lindey; and three sisters-in-law, Theresa DiPiazza of Monessen, Virginia Calderone of Charleroi and Carol Dominico of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Davis in 1992; seven brothers, Dominic, Joseph, Sam, Ralph, Pete, Frank, Michael DiPiazza; and three sisters, Frances Tarvella, Josephine Kluz and Lena Rotolo. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Eleanor Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
