Edwin Provance,aged 28,son of Mr.and Mrs. Frank Provance of 308 Johes street,Belle Vernon,died Tuesday morning,May 27,1924 at 7 o'clock in the Memorial hospital,Monongahela,as a result of injuries received Saturday,May 10 while working in the Pittsburgh Steel Company,Monessen,where he ws employed as a mechanic. At the time of the accident the young man was driving rivetts and while using the automatic air hammer the mechanism went awry and the snap of the hammer struck Mr. Provance between the eyes. He was taken to his home and placed under a physician's care. His condition became gradually worse,complications setting in,and a week after the accient,he was taken to the Memorial hospital,where his passing occurred Tuesday morning. The deceased is a nephew of Mrs. Daisy M. Provins of Seventh street. The deceased was born in Masontown,and when but six years old moved to Belle Vernon with his parents,where he has resided since. August 23,1917,he was united in marriage to Miss Mayme Storey of Belle Vernon. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Belle Vernon. There survive the following;his parents,Mr.and Mrs. Frank Provins,his widow,and two brothers,Curtis Provins,who resides above Yorkin's store,Mckean avenue,Charleroi,and Paul Provins,at home. Funeral services will take place Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of his parents,308 Jones street,Belle Vernon,with Rev. Headley,pastor of the Methodist Church in charge. Interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
