Obituary

Edwin Graves,70,of Charleroi,R.D.2,died in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital on Saturday Feb.17,1973,at 8:50 p.m. He was born in Marksville,Virginia on June 3,1902,a son of John Harris and Elizabeth Ellen Bowers Graves,and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Coal Center and Fallowfield Grange No.1382. Mr.Graves retired in 1966 as foreman of the construction department of the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Surviving are his widow,Hazel LaRose Graves,one son,David J.Shaver of Belle Vernon,three daughters,,Mrs.Barbara Lockhart and Mrs.George (Jacqueline) Kiliamy,both of Silver Springs,Md.,and Mrs.Nicholas (Betty) Shannon of Gaithersburg,Md.,one sister,Mrs.Stanford (Mabel) Nauman of Gettysburg,S.D.,eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Shelby Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 2 to 4 and 7 to p.m. Monday. Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Frank A.Bodnar of First United Methodist Church,Charleroi,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
