Edward W. Gazboda; 74; of Calumet; went to be with the Lord on Friday; May 1; 2009; in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette Hospital. A son of the late John and Gertrude Johnson Gazboda; he was born in Crucible on Dec. 21; 1934. A member of the Hilltop Baptist Church of Hunker; he had resided in Calumet for the past eight years and was formerly of North Belle Vernon. Mr. Gazboda retired from the Carpenter’s Union in 1989 and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; John and Ann Gazboda; of Norvelt; one brother; Joseph Gazboda; of Monongahela; and one sister-in-law; Lenora Zelenski; of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Lauretta ‘Dolly’ Dugan Gazboda; on Aug. 14; 2008.
