Edward W.Mills;formerly of 22 Grand Ave.;Belle Vernon;died in the Haven Crest Convalescent Home;Carroll Twp.;where he had resided the past year;on Monday;Feb.2;1976;at 6:25 p.m. He was 89. Mr.Mills was born in Webster on Dec.21;1886 and had lived in Belle Vernon the past 75 years. He was a retired carpenter from the P&LE Railroad and belonged to the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon and the Golden Age groups of Charleroi and Belle Vernon. His wife;Cora Neil Mills;preceded him in death on Nov.21;1962. Surviving are four sons;Edward E.of Sacramento;Calif.;Glenn R.of Layton;Utah;Henry W.of Highland;Calif.;and Alden C.of Charleroi;one daughter;Mrs.Raymond (Corabelle) DeSanto of Pittsburgh;two brothers;Carl Mill of St;Petersburg;Fla.and Howard Mills of Paducah;Ky;;two sisters;Mrs.Margaret Yuricsek of Beaumont;Calif.and Mrs.Calvin (Jessie) Higgins of Charleroi;12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Gerald Dye of First Christian Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
