Obituary

Edward W.Mills,formerly of 22 Grand Ave.,Belle Vernon,died in the Haven Crest Convalescent Home,Carroll Twp.,where he had resided the past year,on Monday,Feb.2,1976,at 6:25 p.m. He was 89. Mr.Mills was born in Webster on Dec.21,1886 and had lived in Belle Vernon the past 75 years. He was a retired carpenter from the P&LE Railroad and belonged to the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon and the Golden Age groups of Charleroi and Belle Vernon. His wife,Cora Neil Mills,preceded him in death on Nov.21,1962. Surviving are four sons,Edward E.of Sacramento,Calif.,Glenn R.of Layton,Utah,Henry W.of Highland,Calif.,and Alden C.of Charleroi,one daughter,Mrs.Raymond (Corabelle) DeSanto of Pittsburgh,two brothers,Carl Mill of St,Petersburg,Fla.and Howard Mills of Paducah,Ky,,two sisters,Mrs.Margaret Yuricsek of Beaumont,Calif.and Mrs.Calvin (Jessie) Higgins of Charleroi,12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with the Rev.Gerald Dye of First Christian Church,Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
