Obituary

Edward W.Vercoe,62,of Roscoe,died Monday,Aug.17,1992,in the emergency room of Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Township. Mr.Vercoe was born July 18,1930,in California,Pa.,a son of the late Walter and Margaret Bronskole Vercoe. He was a retired employee of the Burrell Construction and Supply Company. Mr.Vercoe was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church,the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department,the Roscoe American Legion Post No.801,the BPO Elks Lodge No.494,Charleroi,Monongahela Valley Lodge No.461,F&AM,and the Perryopolis Travel Club. He was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife,Lorraine Oliphant Vercoe,two sons,Edward C.and daughter-in-law Kathy Vercoe of Roscoe and Ronald L.and daughter-in-law Phoebe Vercoe,serving with the U.S.Navy stationed in Orlando,Fla.,one daughter,Mrs.Stephen (Debra) Skomsky,of Fallowfield Township,one brother,Lee A.Vercoe,of Elco,one sister,Mrs.William (Phyllis) Berno,of Elco,and five grandchildren,Jaime,Ryan and Kristen Vercoe and Gregory and Dane Skomsky. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home,Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi. American Legion services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m.in the funeral home. Masonic services will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home with the Rev.Floyd Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home,Inc.is handling arrangements.
