Edward Richards, Sr., aged 87 years, died Friday morning, September 9, 1938 at 3:30 o'clock at his late residence in 547 Henry street, Belle Vernon. Mr. Richards had resided in Belle Vernon for the past 56 years and was known to many friends not only in Belle Vernon but surrounding sections. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. C F. Hixenbaugh and Mrs. James A. Miller of Belle Vernon and Mrs. Arrison Hodgson of Monongahela; two sons, Edward and Arthur of Belle Vernon; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the home of a daughter, Mrs. James A Miller, 543 Henry street, Belle Venon, at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, September 10,1938 in charge of the Rev. G. Meade Dougherty, pastor of the Belle Vernon M. E. Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
