Obituary

Edward J.Hoffman,43,of 62 Johnston St.,Belle Vernon,died in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital Sunday,May 15,1966,at 5:30 a.m. He had been ill six months. Mr.Hoffman was employed by Monessen Southwestern Railroad. He was a member of St.Sebastian's R.C.Church and American Legion Post 659,both of Belle Vernon,Veterans of Foreign Wars and Loyal Order of Moose,both of Charleroi and East Belle Vernon Athletic Association. Born in Belle Vernon on Feb.5,1924,he was the son of Joseph J.and Mary (Kekely) Hoffman. Mr.Hoffman was a veteran of World War II. Surviving besides his parents,who live in Belle Vernon,are three brothers,Joseph B.Hoffman of Belle Vernon,James V.Hoffman of Lynnwood,and 1st Lt.Paul Hoffman at Savannah Army Depot in Illinois,two sisters,Mrs.Patricia Zidek of Coal Center and Mrs.Betty Tonkavich of Hossier City,La. Friends are being received at the Shleby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where a service will take place Wednesday,May 18,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by a Requiem High Mass at St.Sebastian's R.C.Church at 10 a.m. The Rev.Martin J.O'Toole,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director.
