Obituary

Edward James DeRose, 49, of Johnston Street, Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, in his home. He was born in North Charleroi on July 30, 1953, a son of Gloria Appolline Jacobs, who survives and resides in Monessen, and the late Edward G. DeRose. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon, the Belle Vernon Moose Lodge 209, the American Legion, the Russian Club, and Pennsylvania Chapter 18 of the National Association of Power Engineers. Mr. DeRose had been employed as a boiler fireman for Mon Valley Hospital for the past five years. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one daughter, Deanna Taylor DeRose of Donora, a special friend, Sue, one sister and brother-in-law, Melaine and Bob Elbaum, three nephews, Richard, Auguste and Gabriel, four aunts, Roseanna Jurcevich of Belle Vernon, Stella Krlin of Pittsburgh, Geraldine McCune of Ocala, Fla., and Sara Povirk of West Newton, and several cousins. Friends will be received Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., the time of funeral services in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Ronald Cyktor Jr., parochial vicar, officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
