Obituary

Edward Harman Braithwood,73,of 1124 Henry St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,June 4,1987 at 6:18 a.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was born April 17,1914 in Fayette City,a son of the late William and Lucy Osborne Braithwood. Besides his parents,he was preceded in death by a brother,James. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and a former elder of the church. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge #643 of Belle Vernon,the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Right Valley of Uniontown and the Consistory and the Syrian Temple,both of Pittsburgh.Survivors include his wife,Ruth Streneske Braithwood,one daughter,Janice Boulton,and her husband,William Boulton,Belle Vernon,one brother,Charles R.of North Versailles,one sister,Mrs.Charles (Thelma) O'Brien of Fayette City,and one granddaughter,Leigh Ann Boulton. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where srvices will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. wuth the Rev.Charles LaPlaca of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of the arrangements.
