He was born April 17;1914 in Fayette City;a son of the late William and Lucy Osborne Braithwood. Besides his parents;he was preceded in death by a brother;James. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and a former elder of the church. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge #643 of Belle Vernon;the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Right Valley of Uniontown and the Consistory and the Syrian Temple;both of Pittsburgh.Survivors include his wife;Ruth Streneske Braithwood;one daughter;Janice Boulton;and her husband;William Boulton;Belle Vernon;one brother;Charles R.of North Versailles;one sister;Mrs.Charles (Thelma) O’Brien of Fayette City;and one granddaughter;Leigh Ann Boulton. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;where srvices will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. wuth the Rev.Charles LaPlaca of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon officiating.
