Edward (Ham) Ewell;405 Rostraver St.;Monessen;died Sunday;June 12;1983;at 1:30 p.m. He was 73. Mr.Ewell was born in Connellsville on Dec.26;1909;a son of the late Joseph and Rose Ewell. He served in the U.S.Army and worked for 29 years at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.Monessen plant until he retired. He is survived by his wife;Alice Quawn Ewell;two daughters;Mrs.Pearl Johnson of Pittsburgh and Patricia Davis of Monessen;a grandson;James Edward Johnson of Pittsburgh;a great-granddaughter;Carmen Johnson of Pittsburgh;two sisters;Mrs.Thelma Wynn of Gates and Mrs.Lola Griffin of Baltimore;Md.;and four step-children;Luther Lytton of New York;ALgie and Mary Lytton of Monessen and Alice Joyner of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m.;at the Union Baptist Church in Monessen with the Rev.Oscar Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Draper Funeral Home directors are handling the arrangements.
