Obituary

Edward (Ham) Ewell,405 Rostraver St.,Monessen,died Sunday,June 12,1983,at 1:30 p.m. He was 73. Mr.Ewell was born in Connellsville on Dec.26,1909,a son of the late Joseph and Rose Ewell. He served in the U.S.Army and worked for 29 years at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.Monessen plant until he retired. He is survived by his wife,Alice Quawn Ewell,two daughters,Mrs.Pearl Johnson of Pittsburgh and Patricia Davis of Monessen,a grandson,James Edward Johnson of Pittsburgh,a great-granddaughter,Carmen Johnson of Pittsburgh,two sisters,Mrs.Thelma Wynn of Gates and Mrs.Lola Griffin of Baltimore,Md.,and four step-children,Luther Lytton of New York,ALgie and Mary Lytton of Monessen and Alice Joyner of Monessen. Friends will be received at the Draper Funeral Home,608 Sixth St.,Monessen on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m.,at the Union Baptist Church in Monessen with the Rev.Oscar Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Draper Funeral Home directors are handling the arrangements.
