Edward Halinka;51;of Gibsonton;Belle Vernon R.D.2;died Thursday;April 19;1973;at 1:10 p.m. in McKeesport Hospital. He was born in Donora on May 15;1921;and was a veteran of service with the U.S.Army in World War II. Mr.Halinka was a member of First Baptist Church;Monessen;and the Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Dept. He had resided in Gibsonton the past 12 years. He was employed at the Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin and took a sick leave in january;1972. Due to illness;he then retired in January;1973. Surviving are his widow;Gladys Stewart Halinka;three sons;Lloyd E.Halinka of Charleroi;Jack T.and James R.Halinka;both at home;three brothers;John Halinka of Monessen;Donald Halinka of Fairhope and Robert Halinka of Gary;Ind.;one sister;Mrs.Helen Pitkin of Los Angeles;Calif.and one granddaughter. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon;after 7 p.m.Saturday. Visiting hours on Sunday will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Prayers will be recited Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home;followed by services at First Baptist Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Edward A.Pollock Jr.;officiating.
