Obituary

Edward G.DeRose,209 Wood St.,Belle Vernon,was dead on arrival at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital on Sunday,Aug.17,1975,at 12:25 a.m. He was 47. Charleroi police reported they were called to the Charleroi Elks Club,Third St.and Fallowfield Ave.,to assist the Charleroi Fire Department ambulance in a call at 12:15 a.m.yesterday when Mr.DeRose was stricken suddenly and fell to the floor. Born in Belle Vernon on July 28,1928,he was a son of Theresa Vizza DeRose,who survives,and the late James DeRose. Mr.DeRose was an employee of the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Belle Vernon. He was a member of St.Sebastian Catholic Church,American Legion,Moose and the Italian Beneficial Society of Market St.,all of Belle Vernon,and the Monesen Elks Lodge 773. Surviving,in addition to his mother,with whom he resided,are a son,Edward Jr.and a daughter,Melanie,both at home,a brother,Ernest DeRose of Brighton,Mich.,and four sisters,Mrs.Joseph (Stella) Krlin of Pittsburgh,Mrs.Ronald (Geraldine) McKuen of Fort Lauderdale,Fla.,Mrs.Emil (Fanny) Cappellini of Poteet,Texas and Mrs.Roseanna Jurcevich,at home. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m.Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Monessen Elks Lodge 773 will conduct services at the funeral home on Monday at 7 p.m. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
