Edward Fohner; 81; of Monessen; died Friday; March 23; 2007; in Havencrest Nursing Home; Carroll Township. Born May 31; 1925; in Monessen; he was the son of the late James L. and Mary Jane Spowart Fohner. He had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen as a pay officer. Mr. Fohner was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a member of the Donora American Legion; the Charleroi VFW and a member of Monessen Elks Lodge 773. Survivors include a sister; Mildred Fechter; of Barberton; Ohio; who is the last surviving member of 11 children; and numerous nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; a Gold Rule Member Firm; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen; where visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday; March 28; at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Northey officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
