Obituary

Edward “Buz” Fiorill, 77, of Saratoga Springs, NY passed away on November 21, 2020. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Gelotti Fiorill, daughter Karen Dunay and son Ed Fiorill.  Also survived by sister Maryanne Tucci (Joseph), brother Joe (Rose), brother-in-law Anthony Gelotti (Paula), and many loving nephews and nieces.  Preceding him in death were his parents Catherine and Ed Fiorill and his in-laws Mickey and Madeline Gelotti. Buz grew up in Monessen, PA, later moved to Belle Vernon, PA and relocated to Saratoga Springs, NY in 2015.  He graduated from Monessen High School in 1961 where he was captain of the basketball team and California State College (now California University of Pennsylvania) in 1965 with a BS in Education. He taught in the Pittsburgh Public Schools for over 30 years and finished his career at Prospect Middle School in Mt. Washington, PA. Buzzy was an avid hunter, fisherman, handyman and Pittsburgh Steeler/Penguin fan.  His love for basketball lasted his entire life and during August of each year, he was often at the Saratoga Racecourse with his daughter. He was a lifelong member of St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon, PA, helping them as a Eucharistic Minister and Usher. Buzzy was a caring, devoted, hardworking father. He never stopped helping family, friends, and neighbors. Consequently, he was loved by all. Please join us on August 24th ,Tuesday,  at the chapel in the Belle Vernon Cemetery in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.  Dad will be buried in the area where many of the Gelotti family lay in rest.  The service starts at 11:30AM. Immediately following the service, we will have a gathering (lunch) at Cedar Creek Park in at the Activity Center.  It’s the only spot with an outdoor and (A/C) inside space.  For a map of the park, visit   https://www.co.westmoreland.pa.us/DocumentCenter/View/1640/Cedar-Creek-MAP-2020?bidId=  All are welcome. It is our hope that those that attend might say a few words/eulogize dad or at least share a memory with me and mom.
