Obituary

Edward Lewellen Jr.,57,of 716 Green St.,Belle Vernon,died Friday,oct.20,1967, at 11:30 p.m.in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.  He was born in Elco on Jan.10,1910,and spent most of his life in Monongahela valley.  A resident of Belle Vernon since 1964,he previously lived in Dunlevy and Roscoe,and was known throughout the Valley as a singer and entertainer.  He was an employee of Monessen-Southwestern Railroad,Pittsburgh Steel Co.,Monessen.  Survivors are his widow,Cecil Allen Lewellen,two sons,Donald G.of Miami,Fla.,Edward J.of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.James (Edna Mae) Deal,of Tampa,Fla.,Shirley Lewellen at home,his parents,Mr.and Mrs.Edward Lewellen Sr.,of McKeesport,three brothers,Gilbert of Wayne,N.J.,David of Elizabeth,N.J.,Kenneth of McKeesport,four sisters,Mrs.Elaine Rukavina of Jeannette,Eleanor,Nancy and Connie of McKeesport,and one grandchild.  Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon after 7 p.m.Saturday.  Services will be held there Monday,Oct.23,1967,at 11 a.m.,and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Shelby D.Ferguson of Belle Vernon is the funeral director.
