Obituary

Edward E. Weibl, 65, of 310 Shawnee Ave., Monessen, died Monday, May 1,1978, at 3:36 a.m. in the Monongahela Division of the Mon Valley Hospital following an illness of one month. Mr. Weibl was born in Monessen on Feb. 2, 1913, a son of the late Frederick and Juilaina Hofer Weibl. He had retired from the Page Division of the American Chain and Cable Co. plant in Monessen seven years ago. He was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Church in Monessen. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Louise Dolan of Monessen and three brothers, Fred, John and Raymond Weibl, all of Monessen. Survivors include his widow, Hazel Guzzie Weibl, two daughters, Mrs. James (Jerry) Varsel of Moon Twp. and Mrs. Patsy (Stacy) Maione of Monessen, one son, Fred Weibl of Nitro, W. Va., eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ida McElfresh of Monessen, and four brothers, Frank and Carl Weibl, both of Monessen, Philip Weibl of Chester, Pa. and Clarence Weibl of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home, Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p .m. Tuesday,where a Blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Leonard Catholic Church of Monessen with the Rev.Henry P.Dinicco,pastor,as the celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Leonard Catholic Church Building Fund,through the funeral home.
