Rev. E.D. Robinson,a former pastor of the Wayman A.M.E. Church, died at 3 a.m. Sunday morning,October 22,1934 at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ashby Boyer,620 Sixth street,where he had been ill for some time. Rev. Robinson was born in Pittsville,Va., May 9,1880. Later he went to Ohio and was awarded a scholarship to Wilbeforce University,graduating in June,1910 and receiving the degree of Bachelor of Divinity and Doctor of Divinity in 1923. Still later he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Central University in Indiana,and an M.A. from Indianapolis University. Rev. Robinson was a student of astronomy,astronomical photography and astrophysics under Dr. D. B. Marsh,a British scientist,and was admitted to membership in the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada and also to the American Association of Variable Star Observers,Harvard College Observatory. He served as pastor in Ohio,Pennsylvania, Bermuda and Indiana. During his stay in Monessen,Rev. Robinson was much beloved by his congregation and served as secretay of the local Ministerial Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Robinson,and one sister in Touches, Va. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon in the Wayman A.M. E. Church at 2 o'clock.
