Edna P. Godfrey,86,of 16 Carson St., (Lower Speers),Belle Vernon,died Wednesday,July 25,1990,at 2:37 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born in California,Pa.on May 13,1904,a daughter of the late Shirley and Pearl Curl Griffith. Mrs. Godfrey has lived in Speers most of her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,Harry H. Godfrey on Aug. 13,1981;two brothers, Louis Griffith on 1982 and Thomas C. Griffith in 1972;two sisters, Bertha M. Jones in 1961 and Yvonne Hoffman in 1984;and one grandson,Lt. William Heckman Jr.in 1972. She is survived by a son, James N. Godfrey of Newark,Ohio;two daughters,Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Tamargo of Donora and Mrs. William (Nelda) Heckman of Belle Vernon;two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Gertrude) Kissler of Belle Vernon and Mrs.James (Doris) Hall of Speers Hill,Charleroi;four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends wll be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
