Obituary

Edmund (Ted) Lloyd,of 215 Hoffman St.,Fairhope,Belle Vernon,died yesterday at 4:40 p.m. in the South Hills Health System,Jefferson Center,Pittsburgh,following a lengthy illness. He was 71. Mr.Lloyd was born May 8,1910,in Fayette City, a son of the late John and Sarah E.Spencer Lloyd. he was a Protestant by faith. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II,Mr.Lloyd served in the Continental United States and in the Rhineland with the 126th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. He was a retired employee of U.S.Steel Corporation's Clairton Works. Mr.LLoyd was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the American Legion Post 659,Belle Vernon. Survivors include his wife,Mildred Novisel Lloyd,at home,a brother,John Lloyd,of Belle Vernon,a sister,Mrs.Kathryn Lorinchak,of Fayette City, a half-sister,Mrs.Mae Chattaway,of Monongahela,and several nieces and nephews. A private viewing for family members only will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Private services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev.Mary Howard,pastor,Marion United Presbyterian Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
