Edmund (Ted) Lloyd;of 215 Hoffman St.;Fairhope;Belle Vernon;died yesterday at 4:40 p.m. in the South Hills Health System;Jefferson Center;Pittsburgh;following a lengthy illness. He was 71. Mr.Lloyd was born May 8;1910;in Fayette City; a son of the late John and Sarah E.Spencer Lloyd. he was a Protestant by faith. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II;Mr.Lloyd served in the Continental United States and in the Rhineland with the 126th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. He was a retired employee of U.S.Steel Corporation’s Clairton Works. Mr.LLoyd was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the American Legion Post 659;Belle Vernon. Survivors include his wife;Mildred Novisel Lloyd;at home;a brother;John Lloyd;of Belle Vernon;a sister;Mrs.Kathryn Lorinchak;of Fayette City; a half-sister;Mrs.Mae Chattaway;of Monongahela;and several nieces and nephews. A private viewing for family members only will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City. Private services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev.Mary Howard;pastor;Marion United Presbyterian Church;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
