Obituary

Edmund L.Clark of 21 Columbus St.,Belle Vernon,died Sunday July 5,1981,at 6 p.m.in the Mon Valley Hospital. He was 78. Mr.Clark was born May 30,1903 in Manning,S.C.,a son of the late Peter and Harriet Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife,Elizabeth Annie Clark,in 1971. Mr.Clark was a resident of Belle Vernon most of his life. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church,where he served as a trustee and a member of the Deacon's Board. Mr.Clark was also assistant pianist,a member of the choir,and was past Sunday School Superintendent at the church. He was employed by Reick's Company in Charleroi. Survivors include two sons,Edmund of Wheaton,Md.and Robert of Boston,Mass.,two daughters,Florence Turner of West Newton,Mass.and Marjean Gomes of Worchester,Mass.,two sisters,Mamie Green of Columbus,Ohio and Ovella Benjamin of Pricedale,and eleven grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home,Monessen,on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m.and in the Antioch Baptist Church,Belle Vernon from 5 p.m.Thursday until the hour of service on Friday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Luther Womack,pastor of the church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
