Edith Lachowicz, 98, formerly of Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, in Mon Valley Care Center. A daughter of the late Rosario and Saleta Bitonti Sellaro, she was born in Webster on Dec. 24, 1915. Edith was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the Ladies Guild and the C D of A of St. Sebastian Church. She is survived by one sister, Theresa Toth of Virginia Beach, Va.; and the following nieces and nephews: Yvonne Toth and family; Andrea Toth May and family; Theresann Toth Miller and family; Maryann Sellaro Rossi and family; Joanie Sellaro Hosick and family; Louis Sellaro and family; Hellen Sellaro Taylor and family; James Sellaro and family; Norman Sellaro and family; Frank Sellaro, Jr.; and Jimmy Lou Sellaro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bronislaw "Brownie" Lachowicz on Jan. 6, 1988; five brothers, James, Joseph, John, Frank and Louis Sellaro; and one sister, Mary Klisowski. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon,http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m. led by members of St. Sebastian parish.
