Edith Brown Carson of 320 Euclid Ave.,Greensburg,died Sunday night,Oct. 9,1977 in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was 73.Mrs. Carson,who lived in the Belle Vernon and Monessen areas for a time,was born in Warrensburg,Mo.,on Sept. 14,1904,daughter of the late Joseph and Pearle Estes Brown. She was a retired seamstres. She was a member of Maplewood United Presbyterian Church of Greensburg,where she served as a deacon and as a member of the Women's Association. She also was active as a Sunday school teacher in several area churches. Mrs. Carson also was member of the Royal Neighbors of America Camp 6932 of Warrensburg,Mo.,and the American Heart Association STROKE Club. She was a graduate of Central Missouri State University. Survivors include her husband, Reed H. Carson of Greensburg,one son,Charles W. Carson of Los Angeles,Calif.;one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Jodie) Bailes of Southwest Greensburg;four grandchildren and one brother, Frank L. Brown of East Hutchinson, Kan. Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home,516 Stanton St.,at Green St.,Greensburg,where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.
