Edith Elizabeth Hawk Hegedus; 92; of Groton; Conn.; died Monday; Nov. 22; 2004. She was born Dec. 27; 1911 in Fayette City; a daughter of the late William C. and Mary Condish Hawk. She was a cook for numerous restaurants in the area before moving to Groton. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law; Shirley and Donald Stonfer of Belle Vernon; Pauline and Rudolph Campanoe of McKeesport; Joyce and Joseph Majors of Donora; and Carol and Edward Bridgeman of Groton; with whom she made her home; one brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Lisa Hawk of Ohio; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Marian and Roy Coleman of Massachusetts; and Geraldine and Larry Moran of Belle Vernon; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Paul Hegedus; on Nov 29; 1961; one daughter; Mary Lou Mazza; on Feb 22; 2003; three brothers; William; James and Danny Hawk; and two sisters; Pauline Hawk and Bessie Behanna. Private viewing and services were held Friday; Nov. 26 for the family in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; Fayette City. Interment followed in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
